Chef Eric Roberts, a well-known Atlanta fine dining chef, is stepping away from fine dining and pursuing his passion for the food he grew up cooking and eating in Rome, GA. 

Chef Eric grew up experiencing the cooking of his grandmother who took great pride and joy in creating homemade meals from scratch, planning Sunday suppers, and spending all day in her kitchen making elaborate Southern meals. His grandfather spent his days fishing and tending to his elaborate garden where he planted, grew, and harvested much of the food they cooked and ate. These memories and experiences fueled his desire to go back to where it all started in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains and create Hog Pit BBQ. 

The dishes you’ll find Chef Eric pouring himself into speak to the soul of his childhood. Hog Pit is rooted in BBQ traditions from the southern Appalachian Mountain regions. He is serving up smoked meats, fried catfish, and the most crave worthy sides. With his culinary talent, drive and passion for incredible tasting food, and childhood experiences, Chef Eric has plenty to offer the patrons of Hog Pit BBQ.
